Proof that I am not crazy!

Well my friends, I am not crazy, and this story is proof of it...

Jeff sometimes tells me I am crazy. When he says "crazy" he just means "ridiculous" (don't worry, it is a term of endearment).  Part of me being "crazy" is smelling things that "aren't really there" (and no, this hasn't just been since I have been pregnant). Last Sunday we were going to our friend's house for dinner and I was in charge of dessert. I decided to make a cheesecake. Normally I do my family's no bake recipe, but I realized after I had already started it that I didn't have all the ingredients. I quickly surfed the Internet and within a few minutes, had a new cheesecake recipe. The new recipe was for a baked cheesecake but it looked pretty simple so I was not too concerned.
I put the cheesecake in the oven and went upstairs to do some work in my room because it was supposed to bake for 55 minutes. Jeff was downstairs in the living room, near the kitchen. After about 30 minutes I needed to get something downstairs. When I opened the bedroom door, I could immediately smell something was burning.
I went downstairs and asked Jeff if he smelled anything burning. He something to the effect of, "I don't know. I don't smell anything. You always smell things I don't."  I thought maybe he was right and that I was making up smells, so I didn't go check on the cheesecake. After a minute or so though, the smell was too strong to ignore; I had to check and see if the cheesecake was burning. I went to the oven and found this:

That is not a chocolate cheesecake people; that cheesecake is burnt. Definitely burnt! It turns out I accidentally set the oven to 425 instead of 325 (I thought 425 sounded a bit high, but it was my first time making a baked cheesecake so I did it anyway).
I walked over to him and showed him the cheesecake and he said "Oh. Ya it is burnt. I didn't know. I didn't smell it." I could not believe he couldn't smell that, still can't in fact. I laughed and told him, "You know, you almost had me convinced that I was making up smells". Almost my friend, almost...

And that is why I love Jeff   :)
