Decemeber 2016 Stories

December Quotes

Dec 14
Tyler in preparation to speak to Santa: I am going to tell him about my book, will his reindeer be there, etc?
In actuality: Doesn't speak to Santa and pronounces him "yucky".

Tyler singing: Buy me some peanuts and Apple Jacks, I don't care if you come back!

Christy seems to be a decent sleeper so far. Jeff said, "It took Tyler a whole year for him to sleep as much as she has today."

Dec 21
Mom: I told Uncle Alan Christy's middle name. He replied, "This makes me cry. I was thinking if Rebecca got to give her the send off interview. Thanks Ace and Jeff. Rebecca would be honored."

We may have some learning to do. I told Jeff to bring me a white bow and it took him a few minutes to learn the difference between a bow, flower, and headband. He said, "They are all bows!"

A: Christy is spoiled already. I was holding her and Jeff said, "Rub her hair, she likes her hair to be rubbed."
Tk: Haha. One day old and she has daddy wrapped around her finger already.

Dec 22
Tyler: I'm going to play with Christy and her going to laugh.

Dec24
Tyler to/about Christy: Please can I have a rag?! Her just have milk. I will feed her off my tummy.

Dec 25
Jeff: By the way, your son may or may not have make up on. He was playing with his army guys in the bathroom while I was writing an e-mail.

Tyler was really confused this morning by the whole Santa concept. He knew Santa came while he slept so when he woke up and came into our room this morning he asked if people were still out there. When opening his gifts he heard a noise in the kitchen and asked if it was Santa. He seemed a bit nervous.

My mom gave Tyler some roller skates for Christmas because that is what he really wanted. Well, they may be short lived.
J: Tyler put away your toys.
T: Ok I wear my skates.
J: No. You will get hurt.
T: No. I won't.
(Seconds go by and he falls).
J: That was close.
T: Not close enough.

A: Tyler clean up your train tracks.
T: Dad will help me (aka do it for me).
A: No he won't but you can ask.
T: Dad will you help me?
J: No.
T: Dang it!

Jeff, so now Tyler, do a Jersey/New York accent. Tyler just said to Christy, "Hey kid, you want a paci?"

Tyler is saying, "Eat papa, eat" in a deep voice (from the Rudolph movie).

If I have to hear "How dare you" one more time from Tyler, I am banning him from Carolyn.

Dec 28
We are listening to Christmas music and Tyler just asked if we have some Beach Boys. He thinks "Feliz Navidad" is the Beach Boys so he keeps asking for them.

How he starts off the night...
How he ends it.
If I he takes off his pajamas one more time...!

December 2016 Happenings

Played with Dad's new Rockband game

Set up for Christmas

Played with "the farm" aka The Manger

Tyler fed Rudolph Strawberries
He was allowed to eat some of the strawberries but I was not, and I am the one who washed and cut them!

Haircut

Tyler got a haircut. Took three people, treats, and a smart phone to accomplish.
A little uneven, but no more hair over his shirt collars.

 The Ward Christmas Party

Tyler was all talk when it came to Santa, just as we had expected. He had all these things he was going to show and tell Santa; he wanted to show Santa his new book and ask Santa for Paw Patrol toys. But, when Santa came out, he wanted nothing to do with him and called him yucky. He asked if Santa was going to bring him toys that night and when I told him no, he said then he didn't want to see Santa. I said Santa would give him a candy cane though and he agreed to see him. I told him that he could have the candy cane and dessert if he took a picture with Santa. So, he went up to Santa, yanked the candy cane from him and ran off.
I did manage to get him to take a picture with Santa by standing between him and Santa.

Later on Tyler asked for dessert and when I said he didn't really take a picture with Santa he said, "Yes I did, I took lots of them!" When helping Tyler with his prayers that night I said, "We are thankful we saw Santa" and Tyler added, "and I don't like him."

Watching Santa come out.

Jeff won the "dad wrap" contest!
He said the trick was to not try very hard.

Tyler joined the primary kids in singing and signing Christmas songs. He just looked up at the kids next to him and copied their moves.

Christmas Play date Potluck

Ya, should have taken a picture in the beginning and not the end.

The Snow and Cold Came

Gingerbread Houses

Marlo and Tyler ate lots of candy while waiting for their parents to build the gingerbread houses. Poor kids, it took us parents  forever to make them! By the time we were ready for the kids to decorate, they were over it. All they wanted to do was eat the candy anyways.

Left- Guymon's "Temple" House (complete with a fountain that Tyler wanted to copy).
Right- our ambitious but sturdy house Jeff constructed. Way to go Jeff!
