Gratitude

I have felt very loved and blessed lately. Ever since Christy's birth, I have felt overwhelmed by the kindness of others!  Shortly after Christy's birth I looked down at my phone and saw a bunch of text messages from my friends here. They had heard that I was in labor and wanted to know how they could help. While I do not remember or even know of all the kind things people have done for me this past month, here are a few:
*Mallory was willing to take off work to be with me while I labored because she knew Jeff was out of town.
*Niki offered to take Tyler, even though she had a newborn herself
*Hillary did not feel well and still offered to take Tyler as well
*Lisa came to visit me in the hospital and brought me ice cream
*Ashley Gomez also came to visit me in the hospital and brought me a bag of  relaxing bath items
*Lou wanted to visit (but I was too tired) me in the hospital, once I was home he came over with a card and treats
*Brother Kelly made me a loaf of his delicious homemade bread and gave me a calendar
*Ginny, Hillary, and Stephanie made me meals
*Other friends offered to bring me meals but I did not need them
*Ashley Ensign, Hillary, Tammy, Tasha, and others offered to have Tyler over for play dates and I have taken them up a few times
*My Aunt Julee and her family have helped tremendously with Tyler, including having him spend the night a few times
*Pattie, Fanny and Tessa Garber, Tasha, and Tasha's mother in law, as well as others have given gifts since Christy's birth
*My mom was here for a week and we got a lot done, things I had wanted to get done for awhile
*Jeff's mom came for a week, she is so good with babies, I didn't want her to leave

The danger of naming specific people and acts is that I leave some off, and I am sure I have. But for me, the specifics that I can currently remember are so impressive that I wanted to name them.

To all who have supported me this past month, thank you!

January 2017

Randoms

Saw this sometime after Christy was born and it made me laugh. Could have come in handy a few weeks prior.
This also made me laugh. During my pregnancy I had to visit the hospital because I wasn't feeling good and was worried about Christy. Nothing ended up being wrong and I felt dumb for going. They gave me this cuff thing and told me to bring it back when I was in labor. The cuff never made it back. Looking back I am very grateful for that trip to the hospital because by doing that visit I was already in their system which made it a little easier when I came and delivered Christy.

This is an inside joke between Jeff and I but I had to still post it. Back when Jeff and I were dating we went to this fancy resturant for a friend's birthday. The waiter put these type of breadsticks on our table and I was so excited because I had just learned their name a few days prior. But, I couldn't remember the name so I asked the wiater what they were called, he looked at me like I was an idiot and said, "A breadstick?" Jeff laughed so hard at me. Fast forward six years to when I was walking around Safeway and low and behold-what did I find? The "breadsticks!" For the record, they are called GRISSINI! Jeff didn't seem to care as much as I did about finding them but his intellegience wasn't the one called into question all those years ago.

Tyler Sure Loves His Christy Girl

Tyler loves to share his toys with Christy. I find her covered with them all the time.

He asked if she could sleep with him.

Snow Fun

Dad and Tyler decided to enjoy our last winter with snow by building a snowman. Christy and I stayed inside!

Tyler Continued...

He learned how to take pictures on my phone. I have found over 300 pictures from one sitting before! He loves to change the color settings.

Jeff always makes fun of me for taking pictures of the kids while they sleep. But they look so innocent when they do! And, Tyler is ridiculous when it comes to sleeping. When I go to check on him after he has finally fallen asleep he is never the same way as when I put him down. Take a look for yourself!

I don't know why he often takes off his pajamas, it's freezing!

He has started sleeping with stuffed animals. It is cute!

And other toys...

I guess he needed the extra neck support.

And blankets! These are a few he helped himself to. Well, I guess I would need blankets too if I took my pajamas off when it was cold.

Doesn't seem comfy to have your face squoosed in a net but he often sleeps this way. We had to put the side rails up because he kept falling out of his bed.

Be proud. I let my house get messy so I could get other things done.

January was relaxing but chilly! I look forward to a warmer birthday month next year!
