Christy girl is still our little sweetheart! Over the past two months she has really learned a lot of new skills and it has been fun to watch her do so. Some of the things she can do are:
Give kisses: These are hit and miss depending on how she feels at the moment you ask for her a kiss. If she is feeling generous, she will willingly oblige in an open mouth kiss, after which, she is very pleased with herself for doing so. If she is not willing, she will swat your face away. A few times she has pulled my face and Jeff's face towards her so she can give us kisses. I love it when she does that. Because Ana has turned her into more of a cuddly baby, when I rock her, sometimes she'll suddenly pull her head off my shoulder, give me a kiss, and then rest her head back down on my shoulder. She will do this a couple times in a row when does does it. I love this too!
Cough: For the past few weeks she has been using coughing as a way to interact with people. If she wants your attention then she will cough for you to look at her. And, if you cough back at her, she will do it too. She loves doing this and smiles and laughs when you cough back at her.
Crawl: She started doing the army crawl/drag at six months and really began to crawl about two weeks after that. That was in July. In the middle of July we went to Tahoe so she didn't get a chance to crawl for a whole week. But, once she got back, it was like she wanted to make up for lost time. She crawled faster than before and began pulling herself up and standing. Almost immediately after she began standing she would try to let go and stand on her own. She was able to do it for two to three seconds for few weeks and can now do it (not consistently) can do it for about ten seconds. At this rate, it looks like we could have another early walker on our hands.
Gets into things: She loves outlet sockets, the tv and it's cords, but her very favorite is the dishwasher. I air dry my dishes so the dish washer is often left open. She loves to go to it and pull out all the dishes and silverware she can reach. And, if she can't reach something, she is more than willing to climb onto the dishwasher to get it.
Cry: She still cries when anyone leaves the room, even if she is sitting on someone's lap! This is hard for me. It makes it difficult to get things done. Jeff said one time he had her out in the foyer as another ward was coming in and when people would open the church doors she would smile and get very happy to see them, but as soon as they went into the chapel, she cried. We thought once she crawled she would be able to get where she wanted
and be happy, instead she just follows you around the house crying if
she is upset you left her.
A few other things:
-She is still very smiley and loves her big brother.
-She says, "mmmm" for mom and says "dad" but I don't know if she associates it with Jeff or not. She sure does love when he comes home from work though. She gets a huge smile, laughs, flaps her arms, and bounces up and down.
-She has started to eat more "big people food" as we tell Tyler. She isn't super good with holding her own sippy cup yet, but loves to drink water out of a cup.
-She hates going into her carseat.
-She has definitely regressed with sleep due to all our summer traveling.
But, I have been sleep training her for a few days and it has gone
decent so far. She has cried for two hours each night, but it hasn't
been screaming, so I can handle it. If it was screaming, I would cave.
-She loves to swim and loves the bath.
-And, she continues to make everyone fall in love with her that she comes in contact with!
We love you our Christy girl!

Christy is 6 Months!
Today Christy turned 6 months. How time flies when it is your second kid. She is such a little sweetheart! She smiles all the time is a very happy little girl. Her smile is contagious and she does it with her whole body.
Christy is well admired in our ward, as well as by her big brother. Tyler loves and is protective of her. He knows I don't want her to watch TV so anytime he catches her sneaking a peak he runs up to her and tells her that she is not allowed to watch TV yet. He often talks to people about his "baby sister". She in return, loves Tyler very much. He makes her laugh and smile more than anyone else, often by doing things he ought not to be. Unfortunately, I think this could be the pattern for the next 18 years...
Christy is a wonderful little sleeper and has been from the very beginning! Everyone keeps asking how I am doing adjusting from one to two kids and I tell them great because she sleeps. In fact, two nights ago, she only woke up once while Tyler woke up twice. She normally just wakes up once a night but didn't even do that last night! Maybe it was a happy 6 month present for me. She can even fall asleep while on the floor! Tyler made us think babies just did that in the movies.
Christy has started to eat rice cereal, beginning to army crawl, babbles, and is just an overall joyous baby. We love her and are so grateful for her in our family!

Tyler is Three!
Tyler is three and still as ridiculous as ever! We sure love our silly boy, even when he tests our patience with the things he does or says. He is definitely becoming a "three-nager," and while that brings on a lot of hard times, it also brings on a lot of joyful and rewarding times. He is still very active, smart, loves to make people laugh, and makes friends easily. He still also hates to sleep. I guess this will just be how he is for life.
The poor kid has wanted to be potty trained since before he turned two and I have yet to do it. He often takes off his diaper and goes to the bathroom on his own or wants to wipe himself after having a messy diaper. I really need to help the kid out.
He wants to "do learning" but it is hard for me because he acts like he isn't paying attention so I get discouraged and then later on he will just start identifying letters and numbers that I have taught him. I guess I better help him out with those too.
He loves loves loves Christy and being a big brother, sometimes a little too much. Christy struggled with him at first but has been doing better since she got older. He has enjoyed her being able to smile and interact more and more as she gets bigger. I hope they remain close for life.
Well, guess it is time to show who Tyler is instead of telling...
April 6
Me: We have to change your diaper.
T: It's not a problem for you!
April 11
I am arguing with Tyler right now and he said, "I can't believe this." I am thinking, "Just go put the dumb sandals on with no socks!"
April 17
"Is the pool guy covering the pool in toilet paper?" (It is a plastic tarp while they do repairs).
It is funny to hear Tyler explain the house rules to his new friends that come over. It's like oh, so you understand the rules, you just chose not to obey them.
April 18
"Ok Christy, I know you want to eat but that's enough." Can you tell he wants me?
April 19
Me:Tyler is talking about how much he likes his new friend "Isis" (Iris).
Jeanette: I'm glad he has a new friend. Even if she is a terrorist.
David: I'm not glad he has a new friend if it's a terrorist.
Me: Sometimes you gotta take what you can get.
April 26
T: I have to go pee pee.
Me: You have to go pee pee?
T: Oh, no, just my buns was moving.
April 27
Tyler was just pretending to shop at Walmart. Makes a momma proud :)
He add "B" to the front of everything, "ba-bi-olin" (violin), "ba-quisito" (mosquito), "ba rage"(garage).
May 4
Jeff playing tag with Tyler.
J: Count to 10.
T:10
J: No, count 1-10.
T: 1...10!
T: Can I organize the food in the fridge mom?
Me: No.
T: Ya, let's just take it out and organize it.
May 5
"Cat diddle diddle, jump over the moon, and the little guy laughed and laughed."
May 9
Waiting to get into the "Frozen" show at Disneyland, "Mom! We are waiting to get in the freezer!"
May 11
He was pretending to fix things around the house. I said, "Time for me to pay you" and pretended to hand him money. He got mad and said, "No! Real money!" Ya you wish kid.
May 12
Tyler is playing with Batman and "Mr. Freezer" legos. He knows Mr. Freeze is bad yet he is happily having him defeat Batman, "Ha ha! Baby! Sorry! Next time!" It troubles me my child likes the be the bad guy all the time.
May 13
I was near Tyler and Jeff and it smelled. I thought maybe Jeff needed to shower. Turns out Tyler had a bad diaper. I told Jeff what I had thought and he said, "I smell like a dirty diaper to you?!" One time I thought Jenn was passing gas, but again, it was Tyler and his diaper. Guess I better start blaming my kid first before the adults.
Tyler has been obsessed with Mother's Day since last night. When Jeff was trying to explain to him what it was, Tyler interrupted him and said he already had a Mother's Day present. He came in and showed me five different colored pages from his coloring book, saying "Happy Mother's Day" after each one. Then this morning he woke up and told me and Christy Happy Mother's Day. Jeff took him the other day to make my Mother's Day gift and Tyler came in talking all about it, "Mom! We painted something for you! But I can't tell you we did something because it is a surprise." The painted a bowl together for me. Jeff said Tyler was very particular and the worker kept coming over to see if they were done but was surprised each time to see Tyler still working diligently on it. My sweet boy.
May 16
Tyler is playing trains and repeating, "This is irritating." Courtesy of Jeff for sure!
He also asked me to "dead him" aka shoot him.
T: Do you want to see my naked jaked? (Shakes his buns). Do you want to see my other naked jaked?" (Turns and shakes his front).
Me: Don't do that, that is disgusting.
T: No it's not, it's fun.
May 19
T: Careful there is pee pee right there!
Me: Where?
T: Oh, where did it go?
Me: Next time tell me when you go potty so I can wipe it up right away and it doesn't dry up.
May 20
Tyler has been singing "Under the Sink" aka "Under the Sea."
I tried to get Tyler to eat a cooked onion but he wouldn't because he said it looked "dead".
June 9
We visited the Gilbert temple tonight. He was convinced the "pirate" on the top of the temple was following him because every time he looked up, he could see the pirate. He was very upset that he was being followed. He wanted to know if the pirate was a boy or girl. He was finally convinced that he wasn't being followed once he got out to the parking lot.
Tonight I was giving Mummi a tour of our house and he chimed in, "And this is a wall, and this is a towel, and this is another wall...". Haha. Silly boy!
His new favorite thing to say is "Oh cap (crap)", "by the way", and "seriously". He doesn't know how to use seriously in the right context though. Whenever he messes up while trying to do something silly he says, "No seriously, seriously, that's not it."
June 11
Tyler made a bad guy "kill" a good guy (of his toy characters). I said, "You want the bad guy to win?" He said, " I sure do."
June 13
We were in a Super Target yesterday and I bought a pair of shorts. After I went to the food section. Tyler asked, "Are we in Walmart now?" Guess he knows where we get our food!
June 15 (His birthday)
Tyler cut his hair. Luckily you can't tell.
I about died going down the water slide into the cold pool water. Tyler told me "It will be ok."
I handed him his ball in the pool and he said, "Really thank you sir!" I am grateful it is supposed to be so hot next week and will warm up the pool water.
June 16
I told Tyler it was bath time and he said he didn't have time for a bath, "So sorry" he ends with.
June 17
Tyler is more OCD than me, believe it or not. Whenever we go to my mom's he freaks out about different "dirty spots", some that aren't even dirt. For example, she has an old fold up chair with dried paint on it. Tyler will not sit on it because he thinks it is dirty. He made Mason mop the kitchen floor before he would go on it. So today when he was in my shower and saw some of my hair that had been left on the floor he said it was going to kill him.
He saw a bug and said he wanted to "dead it" by stomping on it.
June 21
Tyler is playing ghost and saying "moo." Better work on that... anyway, he has been fighting the bad ghosts and saying "Stay away from my girl! Stay away from my sister!" But the ghosts just killed him so I guess we're hopeless.
Tyler put on his swim googles and said he was an airplane guy and had to go ride in his car outsdie. I asked him why, if he was an airplane guy he was riding in a car and not a plane. He said someone was borrowing his card. What a creative little liar I have :)
June 22
I thought Tyler was down for his nap, but after being in the room for 40 minutes just came out and asked me to fix his swim googles because they were too loose. I told him that he didn't need them to nap and he just insisted he did. Not sure on what planet he thinks you need to sleep with goggles on.

Christy's Blessing
Because we were ward less again after having a baby we decided to bless Christy in the Cypress First Ward. Not gonna lie, I'd bless all my babies there because it will always feel like home to me. Christy cried during her whole blessing because she didn't like the way she was being held. Her blessing talked about her having a strong body- guess it worked because she sure got strong lungs!

Cali March 2016
We spent a month after Jeff's graduation in California with our families. It was nice to have some time to relax as a family with our families.
Sleeping with Macey. |
Sleeping with Grandma. |
Sleeping with Dad. |
Just sleeping. |
We went to Christian's track meet. It was fun to see him run and he did great. An 11:21 two mile. |
Tyler finally fully included Emma in his activities. He said she could not do certain things because she is a girl. Rude! |
Aiden, Tyler, and Emma waiting to cheer Christian on. |
Sleeping with Ana. |
We visited Granny at her house and went out to Thai food. She is doing great post double knee replacement. |
I was reunited with my old love. Best day ever. |
Found Tyler sleeping like this in the middle of the night. He loved the bow and arrows. |
Kevin and Sarah came. Sarah played legos and Just Dance with the kids. |
Happy Birthday Macey! |
Swimming with Carolyn and Nelson. |
Super baby! She loves to put her arms up. |
Golf at Grandma's and Grandpa's house. |
Sleeping on Grandpa. |
Anytime I went to get Tyler out of timeout I found him like this. Another time Jeff couldn't find Tyler at all when we sent him down for a nap; he fell asleep behind the headboard. |
Sleeping on Momma |
Sleeping at church (not gonna lie, I was a little jealous). |
Grandma bought him Batman legos. |
